Mary Henderson, age 81, of Bowling Green, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at her residence surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. John Birkhead officiating.
She was born Oct. 4, 1933 in Bowling Green, the daughter of Lee and Darlene Dempsey.  She married Milford Henderson on Aug. 17, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2000.
Survivors include sons Gary Henderson and wife Peggy of Rolla, Ed Henderson and wife Brenda of Bowling Green, and Darrell Henderson and wife Linda of Bowling Green; grandchildren Jared Henderson, Austin Henderson, and Michelle Aulbur; great grandchildren Harlee Aulbur and Holden Aulbur; brothers Leon Dempsey and wife Marianne of Vandalia, Bobby Dempsey and wife Mary Lou of Bowling Green, and Billy Dempsey of Bowling Green; and sister Rose Kizer of Paris.   She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Charlene Nappier.
Mary lived her entire life in Pike County, except for five years when she lived in Wellsville and owned the Western Auto store.  She was a Baptist by faith and attended Mt. Zion.  She loved to work, working at Western Auto for 30 years, IGA in the deli department for 13 years, and most recently at Bankheads Chocolates and Crossroads.  She loved her grandchildren dearly and did anything she could for them.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorials may be made to the Pike County Hospice and Mt. Zion Cemetery.
