Services for Mary Evelyn Oberhaus, 82, of Vandalia, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Vandalia United Methodist Church with Reverend Bob Hoehn and Reverend Paul Catterton officiating. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Homes, L.C. Mrs. Oberhaus passed away at 1:10 p.m. August 11, 2012 at Tri County Care Center, Vandalia. She was born July 3, 1930 in Labadie, the daughter of Oscar and Evelyn Sands Fennessey. She was married to Raymond Edward Oberhaus on April 23, 1949 in Labadie and he preceded her in death September 24, 1987. Survivors include two sons, Raymond Oberhaus of Columbia, and Jeff Oberhaus of New Franklin; two daughters and their spouses, Lucy and Tom Lutttrell of Chesapeake, Va., and Janie and Keith Pease of Vandalia; five brothers, her twin, Jim Fennessey of Labadie, Dick Fennessey and Daniel Fennessey both from the state of Indiana, Marvin Fennessey of Bland, and Jerry Fennessey of the state of Louisiana; one sister, Bonnie Calvin, Pacific; three grandchildren, Laura (Guillaume) Marralec of Paris, France, Kim (Bryan Wilkins) Oberhaus, of Kansas City, and Shane (April) Lynn of Columbia; and one great-granddaughter, Willa Marralec of Paris, France. She was preceded in death by one sister, Bess Berger. Mrs. Oberhaus was a homemaker and member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church. She had worked as a cook at Vandalia Elementary School. Memorial contributions may be made to Vandalia United Methodist Church or Vandalia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Riley, Ron Stallcup, Bud Teague, Lee Smith, Eugene McDonald, and Paul Fennewald.
