According to Van-Far Principal Cindy Pirch, Mark Twain High School of the Ralls County R-II School District in Center, Mo. has asked to join the EMO Conference.
Pirch made the announcement during Van-Far’s School Board meeting held Thursday, January 19.
A decision on the Tigers was put on standby until a March meeting of EMO Conference officials.
Mark Twain is currently a member of the Clarence Cannon Conference that features Louisiana, Centralia, Palmyra, Highland, Macon, South Shelby, and Monroe City.
The EMO Conference currently includes Community R-VI, Wellsville-Middletown, Van-Far, Silex, Clopton, Montgomery County, Bowling Green, Orchard Farm, Winfield, Wright City, and Elsberry.
During the 2012-2013 school year, both Winfield and Orchard Farm leave for the Gateway Conference while North Callaway makes its return to the EMO after being voted back in last year by EMO officials.
If chosen, the Tigers would not join the conference until the 2013-2014 school year.
