Marie Butler

Marie Butler, 76, of Eolia, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1938 in Trapp, Ky., the daughter of the late James and Estella (Wells) Elkin. She was united in marriage to James Butler on July 6, 1957 in Milford, Ohio and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2005. To this union two daughters and one son were born.
Marie worked in the emergency room as an LPN at the Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Ohio and DePaul Health Center in Missouri. She was also an LPN at the Elsberry Health Care Center and retired in 2010 from the Silex Community Care.
Marie enjoyed crocheting, tending her garden, fishing and reading especially, her favorite Amish books and her Bible every night before bed. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children: Joyce Moser and husband John of Elsberry, Terri Harrison and significant other Mike Baker of Elsberry and Mike Butler and wife Ronda of Eolia; siblings: Juanita Stone of Ohio and James Elkin and wife Carolyn of Ohio; grandchildren: Michael Butler, Leslie Butler, Caleb Marler, Kylee Dameron, Joseph Dameron, Daniel Harrison (Meghann), Bruce Harrison (Stacy), Chris Smith (Jenny), Steve Smith (Danielle), James Smith (Chalah) and Andy Smith (Brianne); great-grandchildren: Kayden, Shelby, Ethan, Connor, Jordan, Jake, Phillip, Bethany, Devin, Chandler, Nathanial, Steven, Jr., Camron, Kristina, Dylan, Madison, Keegan, Benson, Keaton, Dallas and Layton. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Friends were received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 6 at the Living Water Church located at 125 Living Water Lane Eolia. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7 at the Living Water Church in Eolia.  Officiating the service was Rev. Barry Pfister. Interment was held at Oak Grove Cemetery.
