Margaret Agnes Kientzy, 90, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at her daughter’s home in Sedalia. A mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood with Fr. Charles Tichacek officiating.  Burial was in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery.  Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex.
She was born May 2, 1924, in Silex, daughter of William Tell and Bertha Gertrude Mudd Koster. On Feb. 1, 1950, in Millwood, she married Clarence Sefrin Kientzy, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2011.
Mrs. Kientzy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sedalia, and formerly attended St. Alphonsus Church in Silex. She was a committeewoman for the Democratic Party. She was proud of being the captain of her basketball team in high school. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, playing cards, visiting with friends, flowers, music, dancing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and traveling.
She was a reading mentor at the elementary school. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Korte (Dennis), and Mary Jo Kientzy, all of Sedalia; two grandchildren, Amanda Mast (Kellen), and Ryan Kientzy Korte; two great-grandchildren, Brynlee Mast and Adelynn Mast; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, William Koster, Raymond Koster and Geneva Hawkins.
Serving as pallbearers were Ryan Korte, Jacob Thompson, Mike Tyler, William Koster, Mark Koster, and Luke Ducey.  Honorary pallbearers were Gary Ducey, Dave Oney, and Norman Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Sedalia Animal Shelter or the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
