SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital–Audrain will host a Mammothon during the month of October.
“We really want to encourage women to bring a friend or a family member who has never had a mammogram or its been several years since their last one,” said Kim Weith, director of Laboratory/Imaging for SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. “Many breast cancers do not produce symptoms, and it’s more treatable the earlier it’s found.”
The Mammothon encourages women to have their annual screening mammogram. The American Cancer Society recommends mammography for all women beginning at age 40. There will be special hours on Saturday, October 15, as well as every Wednesday throughout the month. Participants will receive a free T-shirt.
