Lyndell Ray Scott

Lyndell Ray Scott age 78 of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday July 30, 2015 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Pastor Dawn Marie Turner officiating. Visitation  was held from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral at the funeral home. Graveside services  were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Greenpond Cemetery in Pearl, Ill.
He was born Dec. 20, 1936 in Pearl, Ill, the son of Frank and Marie Rhodes Scott.  On Dec. 20, 1958, in Pittsfield, Ill., he married Ima Jean Applegate. She survives. Also surviving are son Frank Scott of Bowling Green; daughter Rebecca (Becky) McIntire (Richard) of Pittsfield, Ill.; granddaughter Caitlyn McIntire of Pittsfield, Ill.; sisters Joan Halsey (Ron) of Pittsfield, Irma Kuhn (George) of Golden Eagle, Ill., Jean Henson (Gene) of Liberty, Ill., Carolyn McCann (Phil) of Pittsfield, Ill., Tina Owen (Tony) of Liberty, Ill.; sister-in-law Phyllis Scott of Kampsville, Ill.
Lyndell was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Vernon Jones; brothers, Harold Scott and wife Sue, and Gary Scott.
He was raised in Pearl, Ill then moved to Bowling Green following his marriage. He was employed in maintenance with Missouri Department of Trans-portation  for over 40 years, worked for Pike County on County Road Special District 3, and had worked part time for Feeders Grain in Bowling Green.  Lyndell was a member of the Elks Club of Louisiana and enjoyed working on his Stock Car and watching NASCAR Races on TV. He also loved fishing.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Bowling Green, Caitlyn McIntire Educational Fund or donors choice.
