Loretta Ann Moss, age 62, of Vandalia,  passed to her eternal reward on December 24, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2014, with a celebration of life memorial service immediately following at the Presbyterian Church in Vandalia.
She was born on June 3, 1952 in Hannibal,  daughter of Alvin & Norma Jean Shaw.
She married Michael Marshall in February of 1969.
To this union three children were born: Shawn Marshall, Brandon Marshall and Ali (Marshall) Jacyna. Later in life, she married Marvin Shurl Moss in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 2, 1997 and he survives.
Loretta held a variety of jobs but finally found her passion as a postal carrier for the Vandalia Post Office where she carried mail for 22 years until her retirement in August of 2013.
She was a lifelong member of VFW Auxiliary  No. 2173 and a member of Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church.
Loretta had a zest for life and had many hobbies. She cared for any animal she came in contact with and loved to read, fish, sew, garden, and dabble as an artist, painting in her free time. Her most favorite past time was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. During her fight with cancer she rallied and fundraised as an advocate of Relay for Life and breast cancer awareness.
She was preceded in death by her father Alvin Shaw.  Survivors are: her mother Norma Jean Shaw, of Vandalia; five brothers, Larry Shaw and Leon (Sherri) Shaw, of Vandalia, Lloyd (Krystal) Shaw, of Benton City , Lee (Crystal) Shaw, of Columbia, and Lionel (Victoria) Shaw, of Vandalia;  three children, Shawn Marshall, of Columbia,  Brandon Marshall, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Ali  (Marcin) Jacyna, of Curryville; three grandchildren Levi Jacyna, Andrew Jacyna, and Abigail Jacyna;  two step-children, Stacey (Robert) Whitney,  of Lee Summit, and Scott (Tricia) Moss, of Sedalia;  five step-grandchildren, Lauren, Jace and Paige Whitney, of Lees Summit, and Gregory and Sydney Moss, of Sedalia;  and many nieces and nephews.
