On June 8-11, 2014 area youth participated in this year’s 4-H Junior Camp program. The theme for the camp was “Movies”. Campers ages 8-11 from Pike, Ralls, Marion, Osage, Audrian, and Cole counties took part in the camp at Camp Cedar Crest near Mexico.
Counselors for the camp were: Ashlee Waddell, Katy Horner, Lance Dixon, Shaylen Martin, Reed Niemeyer and Teagan Teasley, Pike County; Doug Bross and Marissa Todd, Marion County; Morgan Duenke, Audrian County; Kayla Lackman, and Tyler Temmen, Cole County; Andrew Eisterhold, Cole Schanzmeyer, Ashleigh Schroeder and Dunja Schroeder, Osage County.
While at camp, campers took part in movie themed workshops presented by the counselors. Workshops included movie making, finding nature, scavenger hunt, movie trivia, crafts, song writing, team building, and life size board game. Campers learned social, cooperation and leadership skills through these workshops.
The campers also enjoyed swimming and water games.
Campers attending from Pike County were: Bailey Graves, Lexi Robb, Abbie Waddell, Shelby Cohea, Raymond Bird, Kyle Martin, Chloe Gibson, Katelyn Lee, Jack Hughes, Lucas Martin, Dylan Horstmeier, Evan Meyer, and Callie Bailey.
Campers attending from Ralls County were: Emily Evans, Hannah Mallory, Elizabeth Northcutt, Sydnee Brothers, Jaylyn Hudelson, and Austin Selsor.
Campers attending from Marion County were: Mya Gottman, Nora Gottman, Allie Maziarka, Lydia Althoff, Keri Schindler, Olivia Lehenbauer, Emelia Ridout, Sara Ridout, Shawn Martin, Trace Greiman, Dylan Maher, Carl Schindler, Cameron Alford, Cade Chapman, Everett Pangborn, Matthew Barnes, and Camrie Stewart.
