The Van-Far and Community R-VI FFA Chapters kicked off the Audrain County Fair on July 16. Other Chapters participating included Centralia and Mexico. Members showed a variety of exhibits including vegetables, meat, cattle, swine, goats and rabbits. The officer team helped with the Learn and Play at the Ag Today event held at the fairgrounds with the other chapters.

Van-Far Chapter member Mara Jensen won Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Vegetables, showing potatoes and hot peppers. Adam McCurdy showed off his Grand Champion soybeans. Ennis Childs placed third overall with his cured bacon, which he sold at the fairgrounds Tuesday evening.

Members Clara Wallace and Carmen Wilburn exhibited their steers for the show. Both took second place in their respective classes. Clara Wallace also received Reserve Grand Champion Market Animal. Wallace continued her week placing Grand Champion at the Pike County Fair, Grand Champion at the Montgomery County jackpot and Fifth overall and showmanship winner at the Boone County Fair.

On Saturday, July 19, Van-Far Chapter member Cheyenne Martin exhibited her rabbits. Martin received Reserve Champion Sale Rabbit overall, Champion Senior Showman, as well as several other grand and reserve champion rabbits throughout the show. Later in the week, Martin sold her reserve champion rabbit and Childs sold his cured bacon at the Youth Livestock Show.
