Local daycares receive honor

Posted on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10:51 am

DSCN7897Eleven licensed daycares in Audrain County recently went above and beyond in working toward ensuring better fitness for their children by achieving Missouri MOve Smart Child Care.
The Missouri MOve Smart Child Care program provides a set of physical activity standards, for child care facilities to follow, that will help children reach their full potential in physical growth and health.
Child care facilities have the potential to provide an excellent opportunity for children to develop healthy nutrition and physical activity habits for life.
The ACHD is part of the HEAL (Healthy Eating Active Living) program which is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).
One of ACHDs strategies is to increase the number of early childhood education (ECE) facilities that are recognized as Missouri MOve Smart Centers by September 1, 2015. Recognition is through the State of Missouri, Department of Health and Senior Services and the Audrain County Health Department.  Congratulations to the following participating licensed daycare facilities in Audrain County: Almost Home Daycare,  Anita Fetterhoff Daycare, Apple Tree Learning Daycare, A-Z Child Development Center LLC, Little Countryside Daycare, Linda’s Learning Center, Little Greenhouse Learning Center,  Lynn’s Daycare, Michaelene David Daycare, Tina’s Daycare LLC, and YMCA Preschool.
