Lillian Mae Woolfolk

Services for Lillian Mae Woolfolk, 88, of Laddonia will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Laddonia with Reverend Randall Cone officiating. Burial will be in Laddonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Woolfolk passed away at 9:58 a.m., May 20, 2012 at her home.
She was born February 22, 1924 in Vandalia, the daughter of Joseph Granville and Lora Mae Middleton Clithero.
She was married to James Raleigh in 1942 and then married William L. Woolfolk on May 5, 1951 in Vandalia. He preceded her in death June 2, 2000.
Survivors include one son and his wife; Jim and Carolyn Raleigh of Mexico; one daughter, Karen Creech of New Florence; one daughter-in-law, Merlene Raleigh of  Cabool; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Creech of Columbia, Sherry (Mike) Adams of Jonesburg, Darin (Tammy) Raleigh of Mexico, Andrea (Rick) Zumwalt, Mark Raleigh, and Matthew (Dawn) Raleigh, all of Quincy, Ill.; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dale Raleigh, and one brother, Paul Clithero.
Mrs. Woolfolk was a lifetime area resident and a 1942 graduate of Vandalia High School. She joined the Vandalia Presbyterian Church at the age of 14 and after moving to the Laddonia area transferred her membership to the Laddonia Presbyterian Church in 1957. Being active in the church, she was elected an elder in 1982; served as Clerk of Session for 13 years; served as church treasurer for three years; and was a member of the Presbyterian Women for many years. In 2009, she was awarded the Evelyn Bedell Award in recognition and appreciation of her faithful service to the church. She joined the Laddonia Rebekah Lodge # 842 in 1959 and served in several offices including Noble Grand and District Deputy President of Installing District Number 9. She was awarded the Decoration of Chivalry which is the highest honor obtained by a member of the Rebekah degree. She worked at McGee’s Sandwich Shop, Ely-Walker Garment factory, Harbison Walker Refractories and Krogers while living in Vandalia. She then worked at the MFA Elevator in Laddonia from 1954 until 1972, when she retired.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Laddonia Cemetery Association.
Pallbearers will be Mark Raleigh, Matthew Raleigh, Matthew G. Raleigh, Darin Raleigh, Darin Raleigh, Jr. and Michael Adams.
