The Vandalia Library is now located in the temporary location at 401 South Lincoln.
Moving to that location was a huge job and we want to thank everyone that helped in any way including the City of Vandalia, all of the volunteers that helped pack and unpack boxes of books, Tonya St. John and her Van-Far AG students that moved book cases to the temporary library, a couple of students who spent a few days after school shelving books for us, and also the men that came and put the book cases up. Without your help, I do not know how we would have done it!
It was so good to see how our community came together and helped us! We are so grateful for all of the help that we received.
But we need more help. For us to receive the $50,000 grant from the Griffin Family Foundation, we need to match that amount. We have raised $46,189.50 from donations and fundraisers. We have a deadline of December 15 to raise the matching money. We still need $3,810.50 to reach that amount. If you have thought about giving a donation and have not done so, please do so now. We do not want to miss the opportunity of receiving this $50,000 grant. The thought of $100,000 going into the new Vandalia Library Building Fund is truly amazing. Just 3 ½ months ago that amount seemed impossible! Please consider giving a donation to help us reach that goal.
Your donation is tax deductible. Make checks out to Mexico Audrain County Library District and on the memo line put Vandalia Building Fund. You can mail your check, but to ensure that your donation is counted in as quickly as possible, you can drop it off at the Vandalia Library.
