Laurie Ozer died on October 21, 2014 in New Jersey with her husband close by her side.
She leaves behind her husband, Roman Schlesinger and her son, Conner. She was the great-niece of Mae-Emma and Reginald Hartung. She asked me (Roman Schlesinger) to convey the following before she passed.
There were no greater people than Mamee and Dutch Hartung. She loved them deeply and cherished the summers in Vandalia as a little girl. In her own words, “At least there we got to eat,” she said to me with a big smile. Laurie was the bravest person I ever met.
She loves you like family but also had the courage to stand up against family when her loved ones were at stake. Per her wishes I am conveying that she forgives those who betrayed The Hartungs.
She wanted to leave this world in peace after all that she endured. I will miss her deeply all the days of my life.
