The Community R-VI Lady Trojans basketball team picked up two EMO Conference wins last week to improve its record to 10-3.
The girls opened the week by crushing Wright City 63-20 after their defense held the Lady Wildcats to six points or less in all four quarters.
Community R-VI led 15-4 at the end of the first quarter before Samm Jett scored 12 of her game-high 26 points in the second quarter for a 41-9 halftime lead.
The Lady Trojans outscored Wright City 22-11 in the second half.
For the game, Community R-VI made 24-of-57 shots from the field and 11-of-19 free throws.
“Solid performance with 11 different Lady Trojans scoring in the contest,” said Community R-VI head coach Bob Curtis. “…Good Conference win and the ladies were very business-like. All of the girls contributed good minutes tonight.”
Jett finished the game with 19 points, five steals, one assist, and one block while Alissa Curtis tallied 11 points, five rebounds, five steals, two blocks, and one assist.
Danielle Brooks had 11 points, six steals, four assists, and three rebounds; Lexus LaGesse added eight points and four rebounds; Danie Jackson had three points, three rebounds, and two steals; Tayler Cope added three points, two rebounds, and one assist; Delanie Windmann had two points, four rebounds, and one steal; Taren Clark added two points, three assists, one rebound, and one steal; Chelsea Hoyt added two points, three steals, and one assist; Rebecca Hagan had one point, two rebounds, and one steal; Bethany Schimdt had one point and one steal; Mikyla Wagner had one rebound and one assist; and Ivy Stathem had one rebound.
The Lady Trojans ended the week by traveling to Elsberry and leaving with a convincing 58-30 over the Lady Indians.
Community R-VI opened up a 20-11 first quarter lead and pushed their advantage to 20 points at halftime. The Lady Trojans then cruised in the second half, outscoring Elsberry 20-12.
The Lady Trojans made 7-of-20 3-point attempts, 17-of-50 shots from the field, and 17-of-23 free throws in the win.
They also won the rebounding battle 21-10.

Jett made six 3-pointers to finish with 25 points, five rebounds, two blocks, one steal, and one assist. Alissa Curtis had 10 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal; Brooks tallied eight points, seven steals, six assists, two blocks, and two rebounds; Hagan had five points, five steals, and four rebounds; Hoyt added five points, five assists, and four steals; Cope added four points and two rebounds; Jackson had one point, two steals, two rebounds, and one assist; LaGesse, Schmidt, and Windmann each had one rebound; and Wagner had one steal.
