The Community R-VI Middle School girls basketball team continued their dominance against area schools last week after picking up another three victories. This time they beat three EMO Conference schools by an average of 18 points per game.
The Lady Trojans opened the week with a 35-12 win over Mark Twain.
Community R-VI led 21-7 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Tigers 14-5 in the second half.
Alexis Welch led the team with 15 points. Brianna Beamer added six points, Lachlan Elsey had five points, and three points were scored by Emma Angel, Emmi Johnson, and Shelby Clark.
Community R-VI followed their big win with a tight match-up early against Silex.
The Lady Trojans only led 7-4 at the end of the first quarter against Silex.
They took over from there by outscoring the Lady Owls 34-13 in the final three quarters for a 41-17 win.
Welch scored a team-high 16 points. Angel had 10 points, Beamer scored five, and Johnson had four points.
The Lady Trojans then traveled to North Callaway and won a close battle, 30-22, over the Lady Thunderbirds.
Community R-VI held a one-point lead early and were up five at halftime. They outscored the Lady Thunderbirds 13-10 in the second half to win by eight.
Beamer and Welch each had nine points while Clark scored six points.
“We had three solid wins this week,” said Community R-VI head coach Stacie Carroz. “The whole team played quality minutes and everyone contributed.”
