The Community R-VI Lady Trojans earned a third place plaque after winning two of three games in this past weekend’s Paris Tournament.
In their final game at Paris, the Lady Trojans beat Madison for the second time in the same week, this time they cruised to an easy 15-0 victory.
Pitcher Emma Angel tossed a no-hitter in the shortened game and added three strikeouts and two walks.
Katie Bertels led the team with three RBIs and two runs scored while Maddee Gastler added three RBIs and one run scored.
Sadie Hoyt had two RBIs and two runs scored; both Taren Clark and Angel added two RBIs and one run scored; Deann Brooks had two runs scored and one RBI; Emmi Johnson scored three runs; while Delanie Windmann, Shelby Clark, and Dalaney Bowers each scored one run.
In the first game of the tournament, the Lady Trojans knocked off a tough Clark County squad, 4-2.
Community R-VI scored its four runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Clark County scored their two runs in their final at-bat in the top of the seventh but that was all they could get.
The Lady Trojans’ defense made five errors in the loss.
Bertels had two RBIs and one run scored; Windmann added two RBIs; while Taren Clark, Bowers, and Johnson each scored one run.
Angel picked up the win after tossing seven innings of shut out ball and allowing three hits with seven strikeouts.
