Community R-VI gets an out at third against Van-Far.

The Community R-VI Lady Trojans lost a pair of tough EMO Conference games last week to Silex and rival Van-Far.
In Silex, the Lady Owls took a 2-0 lead in the third inning and that’s all they needed as Community R-VI’s offense managed just one hit in a disappointing loss.
Maddee Gastler had the lone hit while Emmi Johnson drew three walks.
Emma Angel picked up the loss on the mound in spite of allowing no earned runs, three hits, with three strikeouts.
“Defensively, I could not have asked for a more solid game from my girls,” said Community R-VI head coach Haley Nobis.
“Tonight, we just didn’t have the bats, which is usually not an issue for us, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Emma Angel through a lot of ground balls and only two walks. We were pretty much lights out defensively. We just could not get the bats rolling tonight.”
Later in the week, the Lady Trojans were ready for rival Van-Far in a home game but they couldn’t get much going in a tough 13-1 loss.
Van-Far led 7-0 through five innings before plating six in their final at-bat.
The Lady Trojans scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning as Taren Clark scored on an error.
The offense had just two hits while Van-Far’s offense picked up 15 hits.
“We struggled at the plate again tonight and Van-Far really capitalized on our pitching and some mental mistakes we made,” Nobis said.
“We needed to be more aggressive at the plate, and as young as we are, that is to be expected. We finished hard and never gave up though and as a coach that makes me happy to see them grit it out until the end.”
Angel allowed seven earned runs in five innings on 12 hits. She also had one strikeout and three walks.
Sirrina Dunn tossed two innings in relief and allowed five earned runs, three hits, adding two strikeouts, and one walk.
