The 4×200-meter relay team broke a 10-year-old school record at districts.

The Community R-VI track and field team had athletes advance past districts in two events during the district track meet held last Saturday in New Haven.
The Lady Trojans were led by the 4×200-meter relay team of Hayley Kinder, Elisa Swaim, Paige Risenhoover, and Deann Brooks.
This squad took third place with a time of 2:01.88 and broke a 10-year-old school record in the process.
Brooks didn’t advance in the triple jump but did take fifth with a leap of 29’11”.
Alissa Craig also advanced after she tossed the shot put 29’05.25” for fourth place. Craig was also sixth in the discus with a toss of 80’08”.
All of the athletes will perform in Saturday’s State Sectionals held at Lutheran North High School.
The Lady Trojans, as a team, did have the 12th most team points in the 17-team meet districts.
The lone Trojan, Eric Hombs, didn’t advance but did make the always tough 100-meter finals and was eighth (12.32).
In the javelin, he set both a personal record and school record with a toss of 103’05. It was only the third time he’s participated in the event as he placed eighth.
