The Van-Far Lady Indians picked up not only a much needed win over Wellsville-Middletown last week, but a rather convincing victory as they knocked off the Lady Tigers, 62-34.
“We shot the ball so much better this game than we did all last week,” said Van-Far head coach Kelly Borchert. “Our ball movement was better than it has been as well. We worked on several defenses during the game so communication was key. It was nice to see a good team win for us and see some girls that have had trouble scoring start hitting shots that are crucial for us.”
Van-Far made eight three-pointers and 8-of-10 free throws in the win.
Jordan Garner led the Lady Indians with a double-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Panna Connaway had 14 points, three rebounds, one steal, and one assist; Jayle Jennings had eight points, six rebounds, six steals, and six assists; Haley Basket tallied eight points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists; Dana Keller added six points, five assists, two steals, and one rebound; Aubrey Bunge had two points, five rebounds, and one assist; Abigail Hunn had two points; and Alyse Jensen had two points and two assists.
“Garner and Connaway shot really well,” Borchert noted.
