The Van-Far Lady Indians were hoping to pick up a big win during the holidays when they took on Madison at the Moberly Shootout held this past Monday.
Unfortunately, their offense struggled after scoring seven points or less in three quarters during a disappointing 35-29 loss to Madison.
“We didn’t play with any intensity and it really hurt us,” said Van-Far head coach Kelly Orf. “Madison got to the line and hit free throws which accounted for 13 of their points.”
Van-Far trailed 20-12 at halftime and was down 11 heading into the fourth. The Lady Indians outscored Madison 13-8 in the final frame but it was too late.
Reaghan Case scored a team-high eight points, two rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block while Jordan Garner scored six points, three steals, and two rebounds.
Jayda Borgmeyer had three points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block; Alexis DeTienne had four assists; Jayle Jennings tallied five rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals; Renee Nelson added two rebounds and two blocks; and Hailey Hopke had one steal.
