Ladies Auxiliary meets

The Ladies’ Auxiliary to VFW Post 2173 met on Thursday, January 10, at the post home in Vandalia.  President Victoria Shaw called the 7 p.m. meeting to order.  Opening ceremonies were lead by Chaplain Mary Gramley and Patriotic Instructor Vivian Davis.

The minutes were approved as read.  The treasurer’s report was filed.  General Orders #6 were read.  Other correspondence included information letters from the Department of Missouri.  Community Service Chairman Ann Wasson collected hours from members present.

Four new members were received into membership in the auxiliary.  They are Patty Caldwell, Jan Van Boening, Jill Lybarger and Abbie Moore, who all joined on the service of active VFW Post 2173 member Randal Caldwell.

The Auxiliary voted to continue a scholarship for a graduating senior at Van-Far High School. A donation was made to VFW National Military Services.  The quarterly audit report was given and accepted.

The District 17 meeting was at Clarence, MO on Sunday, January 13.

Members in attendance were Joy Davis, Vivian Davis, Donna DeTienne, Judy Hull, Mary Gramley, Norma Shaw, Victoria Shaw and Ann Wasson.

The next auxiliary meeting is Thursday, February 14, at the post home.
