Laddonia terminates Clerk/Collector

The Laddonia Board of Aldermen met in regular session at City Hall on July 16 with the following present: Mayor Monte Hanson; City Clerk/Collector Rita Bland; Aldermen Gary Garnett, Glenn Jensen, and Francis Hunn; Treasurer Nick Parrish; Maintenance Supervisor Carl Donaldson; and City Attorney Tom Ellis.
Alderman Patty Kennemore was absent.
The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Mayor Hanson.

Jensen moved and Garnett seconded the approval of the agenda. The motion was approved.
Patron comments were heard by the board.
Hunn moved and Garnett seconded approval of the reports. The motion was approved.
Jensen moved and Hunn seconded a motion to accept a new ordinance for trucking regulations on the city streets. The motion was approved.
Hunn moved and Garnett seconded a motion to accept an ordinance to fix a grammatical error in the current ordinance relating to the city sales tax. The motion approved.
Garnett moved and Jensen seconded a motion to approve Hunn continue in the position of Mayor Pro-Tem. The motion was approved.
Hun moved and Garnett seconded a motion to accept the resignation of Patty Kennemore as an alderman due to her moving out of town and that motion was approved.
Anyone interested in that position is asked to contact the mayor or an alderman.
Jensen moved and Garnett seconded a motion to close the regular business session and that motion was approved.
The board of aldermen moved into executive session.
Jensen moved and Garnett seconded a motion to terminate the employment of Rita Bland as City Clerk/Collector. The motion was approved.
Garnett moved and Jensen seconded a motion to close the executive session and that motion was approved.
Garnett moved and Jensen seconded a motion to close the board meeting, which was approved.
