Laddonia set to host annual 4th of July event

A full schedule of events are scheduled for the 64th Annual Laddonia 4th of July Celebration to be held on Monday.
The morning line-up kicks off with the start of the Co-ed Softball Tournament, hosted by Louie and Deanna Bowers.
A Silent Auction featuring a large variety of items also starts at 8 a.m. and won’t end until 7 p.m.
The POET corn trailers will also open at 8 a.m.
This Baby Contest begins at 9 a.m. with the Little Mr./Little Miss Contest to follow.
All age groups in the Baby Contest can wear what they want while participants in the Little Mr./Little Miss much wear 4th of July clothing.
Registration starts for the two contests at 8 a.m. to the start time and will be held at the ball park. In case of rain, the contests will be moved to the Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
Costs are $2 per entry with Lynn Flowers hosting.
The 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament starts at 9 a.m. with registrations being taken from 8:30-8:45 a.m.
The event is supported by the Rual R. Morris Foundation with proceeds from the event going toward the Vandlaia YMCA Project.
It is hosted by Jeff and Tammy Angel alongside Candace and Tony Lower.
A Big Bang Show opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m.
Line up for the 11 a.m. Parade starts at 10 a.m. with the judging taking place at 10:30 a.m. It is hosted by the Laddonia Ladybugs.
The afternoon/evening line-up starts at noon with bounce houses opening and running through 7 p.m.
Also at noon will be a performance by the Yee Haw Line Dancers under the George Wrinkle Pavilion.
Free kids games start at 1 p.m. that include a frog jump, turtle race, sack race, bicycle race, and more.
The kids games are hosted by Josh and Skylar Curtis Deimeke.
The Horseshoe Tournament will be held at the Wayne McGrew pits at 1 p.m. with host Bill Hendrix.
Water Barrel Fights, with the help of the Laddonia Fire Department, start at 2 p.m.
Jimmy and Tonya Myers are hosting kids volleyball at the volleyball pit at 2 p.m. with a 1:30 p.m. sign-up.
Adult volleyball follows at 3 p.m. with a 2:30 p.m. sign-up.
“Liberty Jazz” is scheduled to perform under the George Wrinkle Pavilion at 6 p.m.
A Free Kids Book Walk will also be held at 6 p.m. and hosted by Jackie Waller, Becky Deppe, Jim Deppe, and Jana Craven.
This year’s Hall of Fame awards will be given to Ruby Hamlett and Glenroy Hoyt.
A Candy Toss, hosted by the Laddonia Fire Department, starts at 9 p.m. before the annual Fireworks display lights up the night’s sky.
The 4th of July Celebration, an annual event, is sponsored by the Laddonia Athletic Association.
