The Vandalia Area Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting its “Music on Main Street Summer Concert Series” with a kickoff concert on Thursday, May 26 at 6 p.m.
The “Kansas City Street Band” is returning to entertain music lovers for the first event of the Summer at the South Railroad Park in downtown Vandalia.
One of the premiere bands in the midwest, the “Kansas City Street Band,” performed in Vandalia in 2009 as a part of the Vandalia Historical Society’s Smithsonian music celebration.
The band has had more than 40 years of touring and making records.
The Vandalia Lion’s Club will serve concessions at this event with a portion of the proceeds returning to the Chamber of Commerce to help fund this and the future Music on Main events.
The Chamber encourages folks to bring their lawn chairs and maybe an umbrella because they expect folks will want to stay for the whole show.
A lineup of the remaining Music on Main events will be coming up in a future edition of The Vandalia Leader.
