JOHN GUY JOHNSON

John Guy Johnson, 58, of Argyle, Iowa, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Jefferson County, Texas.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1955 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of William and Helen Bowen Johnson.  On March 6, 1985 he was united in marriage to Judy Reinhart in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Christopher Johnson of Keokuk, two daughters, Misty Bair and her husband, Mark, and Lisa Griffith and her husband, Donald, all of Bowling Green, five grandchildren, Emily Traynor, Trenton, Darin and Kole Griffith, and Wyatt Bair, his mother, Helen LaBonte of Warsaw, Ill., his brother and best friend, Bill Johnson and his wife, Shari, of Keokuk Iowa,  and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
John attended truck driving school in Kansas City, and had been an over the road truck driver for 28 years.  Currently he was employed with Marten Transport, LTD.
He loved baseball and listened to games and sports shows on the radio while he was on the road.  John was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and attended many of the games in St. Louis with his brother.  He loved dogs and always had a lot of dogs, from golden retrievers to labs to border collies.  Many of them became his faithful companions and buddies.   John was a hard worker, and even after a long haul he would come home and work on his house, finishing up projects.  He loved his family and always made them a priority in his life.
According to his wishes there will be no services or visitation.
