Jean Rice, age 81, of Bowling Green, passed away March 12, 2014 at the Maple Grove Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 18 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Pastor Dawn Marie Turner officiating.  Burial was at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.  Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, March 18, at the funeral home.
Jean was born April 27, 1932 in St. Louis, the daughter of Aubrey and Verna Enloe Knight.  On July 26, 1950 in Waldron, Ark., she married J.T. Schmidt.  He preceded her in death in June of 1998.
Survivors include two sons, John and Terisa Schmidt of Bowling Green and Ralph and Renell Knight of Racine, Wis.; three grandchildren, Gary and wife Tiffany Schmidt, Connie Schmidt, and A.J. Knight; three great-grandchildren, James Schmidt, Ashlee and Trayce Schmidt; one brother, R.J. and wife Paulette Knight of Bowling Green; a niece, Linda and husband Harlon Christian; five nephews, Justin and wife Myra Knight, Jason Knight, Ken Mudd, Terry Woodruff, and Harold Schmidt; and two great-nephews Dillon Knight and Brian Christian.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Robert Wayne Schmidt, and brother Ralph Knight.
Jean lived most of her life in Bowling Green except for 14 years when she lived in Golden, Colo.  She was a member of New Harmony Christian Church.  She loved her family and spending time with them.  Jean was always assisting, helping out, and caring for anyone and everyone, especially her parents.  She enjoyed mowing, gardening, going to casinos, and above all having a good time.
Serving as pallbearers were Jason Knight, Justin Knight, Ken Mudd, Terry Woodruff, Harold Schmidt, and Brian Christian.
Memorials may be made to New Harmony Christian Church.
