James William “Bill” or “JW” Janes, age 92, of Pacific, formerly of Laddonia, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012.
Mr. Janes was born June 22, 1920, in Farber, the son of William James Janes and wife Georgia, nee Day.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Haddy Ruth Janes, nee McCoy; two sisters, Lola Lummner and Elizabeth Sheridan; and one brother, Johnny Janes.
Mr. James is survived by his loving wife Millie Pendleton-Janes; one sister, Virginia Nutt, nee Janes; one step-daughter from his first marriage, Eldean Barnes and husband William, Moberly; five step-daughters from his second marriage, Janet Witherby and husband Frank, O’Fallon, Joyce Katich, Ballwin, Pat Ferris and her late husband Jim, Washington, Sandy Weber and husband Rich, Grover, and the late Kathy Corbett; two sisters-in-law, LaVerne Calvin, nee Krueger, Washington, and Dorothy Pendleton, nee Krueger, Wildwood; one brother-in-law, Harold Krueger, Belmont, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, September 4, at 6 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, Ballwin.
Graveside services were held September 5 at Laddonia City Cemetery at 2 p.m. with full military services at the Laddonia Cemetery.
Interment was held on Wednesday, September 5, in Laddonia City Cemetery, Laddonia.
Memorials to the American Heart Association are preferred.
The family was served by Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory in Ballwin.
