James McPike Ogden, 91, of Wentzville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at Parklane Care Center in Wentzville. James chose cremation and no services are planned.
He was born Sept. 4, 1923 in Cyrene, the son of Aubrey T. and Katherine V. Ogden.
He was married from 1970 to 1982 and had no children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Betty Leverett, two brothers, Aubrey E. Ogden and Thomas Ogden, and one niece, Vonna Ogden.
Survivors include one sister, Maurine Harness and Lowell of Middletown, one sister- -in-law Evelene (Aubrey) Ogden of Bowling Green, nephews Harry Harness and wife Connie of Farmington, Donald Harness and wife Ann of Mexico, and Kent Harness and wife Susan of Mexico, niece Sherie Magner and husband Jerry of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, nephew Deene Ogden and wife Anna of Georgetown, Texas, nieces Kathy Ogden of Bowling Green and Sallie Martin and husband Mike of Kirksville, nephews Dennis Leverett of Bowling Green and Ted Leverett and wife Carol of Wentzville, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was raised in Cyrene and moved to Southern California in 1942, where he worked for Douglas Aircraft. He was in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1945. He worked for JCPenney for 35 years and then a wholesale shoe company for four years after retirement.
He moved to Hemet, Calif., in 1991 and to Streator, Ill. in 1996. He lived in Wentzville, from 2013 until his death.
