Laddonia’s Family Fun Day delights the crowds

LADDONIA—Rain didn’t stop the fun at the Laddonia Family Fun Day this past Saturday Oct. 5.
Coed softball went to bat first. A little water didn’t slow the players down, as they continued with the game through rain and shine.
The Free Kiddie Car Rides stayed busy almost the entire day. This year, the ride included a new three-wheel motorcycle.
Also, during the morning, the Community R-VI Band kept the crowd entertained with some popular music selections.
In spite of the weather, the washer tournament began at 1 p.m. and played through to completion.
Kids games with the Dr. Seuss characters Thing 1 and Thing 2 were a great success.
Thing 1 and Thing 2 also were at this year’s pumpkin painting event and at the reading of “Spookly the Square Pumpkin” a memorable occasion that delighted children and adults.
The kids almost couldn’t wait for the “Money In The Straw” game, and when it began, some dived in head first.
The weather broke just in time for Kelly Stanford to sing under the George Rinkle Pavilion at 5 p.m.
The rains did finally dampen the evening festivities, causing the showing of the movie “Hocus Pocus” to be rescheduled for another time, which would be announced at a later date. More photos on Page 7.
