Internet speed hits a snag as Windstream looks for a fix

As of Tuesday morning, those in the City of Vandalia using Windstream as their internet service provider may be noticing slow speeds on personal and business computers.
I will testify that me trying to send pages through an .ftp site at press time wasn’t easy and forced us to use the old-fashioned approach of driving the pages closer to the press to get things out on time.
According to multiple Windstream representatives I talked to, they said the problem has been isolated but could take as long as May 28 to be fixed.
In an internet society where we want the information were seeking quickly, this is making those who depend on a fast service to want to pull the hair out of their heads.
Many Vandalia area residents might not use the internet all the time and might not realize there is currently an issue. Some may be delayed while shopping at area businesses due to the slow speed.
Windstream has been good in the past for getting major problems fixed in a somewhat timely manner. Let’s just hope this is once again one of those times.
Baltimore Orioles
I know this article will put an official jinx on my favorite baseball team but I must enjoy this ride while I can. Currently, the Orioles are just a half game out of first place in the hardest division in Major League Baseball. They’ve had seven final at-bat victories already this season, tying all of last year.
It’s been 15 years since my team has made the playoffs while you St. Louis Cardinals fans have been enjoyed being spoiled. Here’s hoping my O’s can make the month of May as good as April was to start the season for them.Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
