The Van-Far Indians lost a tough game to Hermann last week as they fell 9-3 after making four errors. Hermann’s defense made no errors in their win.
“Hermann is a really solid ball club,” said Van-Far head coach Wes Rowden. “Lots of speed and played really good defense.”
Both teams were tied at 2-2 after the first inning.
Hermann pushed their lead to two runs in the second and added three runs in the third to go ahead for good.
Van-Far’s final run was scored in the third inning.
Wyatt McDowell picked up the loss after allowing three earned runs over 4 1/3 innings pitched. Josh Hodde went 1 1/3 innings and allowed two earned runs.
Offensively, Cameron Barsé and Hodde each had two hits. Logan Wilson, Mike Colson, Klayton Haddock, Layten McMillen, and McDowell each added one hit in Van-Far’s nine-hit attack.
