Vivian McWhirt

Vivian McWhirt, 92, formerly from Vandalia, Mo, died in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, at the group home where she was living in Plano, Texas.
Services were at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, at Waters Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Hoehn officiated.
A visitation was held at 10 a.m. at Waters Funeral Home until the time of service.
Vivian is survived by her daughter, Judith Hammett of Fairview, Texas, grandson, Heath, his wife, Melissa, and great-grandchildren, Avery and Chase Hammett, also of Fairview.
Her parents, her husband, Bobbie McWhirt, and son, James McWhirt, all died earlier.
Vivian was born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Jonesburg, Mo., the daughter of Olin and Ruth (Hunter) Morris. She attended and graduated from Van-Far Schools.
Vivian was united in marriage to Bobbie McWhirt in October 1948. He died earlier in 1994.
Vivian worked for many years in Vandalia at the Waters Furniture store. She was known to be a very caring, helpful and loving person. She adored her friends and family. She enjoyed sewing in her earlier years. In her later years, after retirement, Vivian enjoyed trips to Texas to visit family and traveling. She was able to visit Hawaii and Ireland and joined many senior bus trips around the U.S.
Vivian was amazing to her family. She was much loved and is greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in care of Waters Funeral Home.
