The Van-Far Indians track team competed in the Cunningham Invitational at Louisiana High last week. Alayna Bryan took second place in 300m hurdles and fourth in pole vault. Gage Gibson placed fifth in the 300m hurdles. The ladies 4×200 took fourth and 4×400 placed sixth. The boys 4×200 placed sixth. The Indians played against the Bowling Green Bobcats last week. “We scored 1 run in the top of the first inning and then we ended up losing 16-1 in four innings,” said Coach Pat Connaway. “Defensively we did play better, but our pitching let us down walking several batters and hitting four batters, as well. We had a better mindset and seemed to start having some fun. We need to keep that mentality in the coming weeks and hopefully, we can start getting a win or two,” he added.
