Representatives of MFA Oil, Marty Mills and Tony Dameron, traveled around Audrain County last week to deliver Foundation Awards Grant checks to several 2022 recipients.
The first stop on the trip, was the Eastern Missouri Family YMCA in Vandalia. The grant will help assist the YMCA with the purchase of a set of outdoor youth soccer goals and two corner flags. MFA Oil Senior Director of Employee Engagement and Culture Tom May, said that the MFA Foundation gives support back to the community.
“This is a program that allows our company to give support back to rural communities that are the foundation of our business,” said May. “The grants the foundation awards help support many youth programs and organizations active in addressing and solving community problems and improving the quality of life,” he added.
Mills and Dameron also presented a check to Dean Middleton, of the Vandalia Rural Fire Association, to assist with purchasing 12 firefighter self-contained breathing apparatus.
Mills and Dameron then traveled to Laddonia, where they presented a check to Mayor Gary Garnett to assist with the purchase of three sets of new bleachers for a basketball court. Garnett was happy to receive the grant check.
“We are thankful to MFA for the grant,” said Garnett. “This will help us to move forward with the new court that we will begin working on in the spring. We have $86,000 budgeted for the project that will be constructed on the donated land across from the park. This will serve area students well. Our Community R-VI players are some of the best in the state and this will provide them with options for playing,” he added.
