Lisa Rena Hays

Lisa Rena Hays, 59, of Vandalia, Mo., died at 9:52 a.m., Sunday, July 10, 2022, at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital.
Services were held 11 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Waters Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Hoehn officiated.
Visitation celebrating Lisa’s life was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Waters Funeral Home.
Lisa was born Sept. 17, 1962, in Hannibal, Mo., the daughter of Ray Daniel and Shan Marie DeTienne.
She was united in marriage to Robert Hays on June 16, 1979, in Vandalia, Mo. He survives her of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Trina Hays (Allen Wright) of Vandalia, Mo.; brothers, Daniel Ray DeTienne of Vandalia, Mo. and Curt Lewis (Twila) of Oklahoma; sisters, Tonya Lybarger of Bowling Green, Mo., and Angie Duris (Joe) of Michigan; grandchildren, Christopher Hays, Alyssa Hays and Ayanna Hays. Also surviving her are her father, Berwyn Lewis of Vandalia, Mo.; mother-in-law, Betty Hays of Vandalia, Mo.; brothers-in-law, Ronald Hays of Vandalia, Mo., Rick Hays (Carol) of Blue Springs, Mo. and Roy Hays of Vandalia, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Kay Norris of Vandalia, Mo., Ann Williams (Tex) of Vandalia, Mo., and Nancy McDonald (Eugene) of Vandalia, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her son, Chad Hays; mother, Shan Lewis; father, Ray Daniel DeTienne; father-in-law, Billy Joe Hays; and sister, Donna DeTienne, all died earlier.
Lisa had previously worked at Avery/s Floor Mat in Laddonia for 25 years before her health forced her to retire.
Away from work, Lisa enjoyed being in the great outdoors. Camping with her family, hunting and fishing were all things Lisa enjoyed doing. Crafts and cooking were other hobbies of Lisa’s and she always cherished the holidays with her family, especially Christmas. Lisa would never pass up a trip to the gambling boat, she truly enjoyed this time spent with her family and friends. Lisa’s biggest love was her family. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.
Lisa attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vandalia with her husband.
Honorary Pallbearers were Christopher Hays, Allen Wright, Kyle Lybarger, Dawn Lybarger, Gary DeTienne, David  Hays, Tara Horton and Ryan Hays
