FARBER—County fairs and festivals have flooded the tri-states giving entertainment to guests of all ages.
This weekend Farber will welcome guests to the Farber Fun Fest at Sportsman Park on Aug. 6 and 7. The event has several scheduled activities throughout the weekend for area residents to enjoy.
Friday night, the family fun weekend kicks-off at 5 p.m. with the Food Stand opening and the hosting of the Little Mister and Miss contest at 6 p.m. Children ages 3-5 years old can participate in the contest with registration at 5:30 p.m. At 6 p.m. those attending can satisfy their sweet tooth at the Ice Cream Social, followed by Missouri Farm Pullers and Lucky at 7 p.m.
Saturday the Fun Fest will start bright and early with a YMCA run at 7:30 a.m. The Food Stand will also be open at this time. Registration for the 5K Run/Walk is from 6:45-7:15 a.m. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome.
From 8 – 10 a.m. the North American Refractories Reunion will be held with coffee for those attending. At 9 a.m. a Farmers Market and vendor booths will open. The Horseshoe Tournament is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., followed by a Washer Tournament at 1 p.m.
There will be a Baby Show at 11 a.m. for children ages 0-36 months. Registration for the contest is at 10:30 a.m.
Lucky for Kids will begin at 1 p.m. for children ages 3-10 years old. At 2 p.m. there will be a Pedal Tractor Pull, followed by a game of Egg Drop.
As the day progresses, the evening will bring adult entertainment on Front Street by Railroad Park.
At 4 p.m. there will be a Classic Car and Motorcycle Cruise Poker Run with DJ. Food trucks will be available. There will also be a Cake Walk at 5 p.m. Live music will begin at 6 p.m. and run until 12:30 a.m.
Fifty/Fifty will open from 6 – 9 p.m. And the band, Dead Format, is scheduled to take the stage at 9:30 p.m.
