In less than one week, we will officially hang up calendars and begin correcting ourselves when we write down the wrong year as we start 2013.
It’s hard to believe we are 13 years into the new millennium and if you’re reading this, it means we’ve survived the predicted Mayan apocalypse.
As many of our readers begin establishing resolutions for the new year and set other goals they aspire to reach, it’s important to never overlook being thankful for many of the things we might take for granted every day.
If you’re reading this, it means you woke up this morning, you’re breathing, you apparently can see, etc.
We might be blessed with kids, parents, and other family members who we can talk to and do things with them.
We might have a vehicle that is working right most of the time. We might have a job that at least provides us some sort of take home money to provide for our family, and the list goes on…
Just like in 2012, most of us will be extremely busy in 2013. For many of us, the hustle never seems to end. If you have kids, you might be agreeing with me by saying “Amen.”
While we are destined for lives that take us from one thing to the next, may we strive to be thankful for every step of the journey we take in 2013.
Some of us will be sure to have challenging times. We might lose loved ones and have only our precious memories to hang onto during our mourning.
We might lose jobs and we might face tough economic times. Our vehicle might stop working, etc.
Whatever the challenge is that comes our way, I pray all of us can try to deal with each the best way we can while still remaining thankful for the good times and the many things we too often take for granted.
I’m personally looking forward to what 2013 has in store for my family and I’m thankful for how God has already blessed us in so many ways.
I’m personally excited to see what things God puts in our path in the year ahead and know I need to remain grateful even during the dificult times that come as they do every year. I want to thank our customers, readers, advertisers, family, and friends for the experience of working with you in 2012 and look forward to much of the same in 2013.Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
