A hunter education class has been set up for Audrain County for March 15 and 16.
On March 15, the class will start at 6 p.m. and last until 9 p.m. and on March 16, the class will start at 8 a.m. and last until 5 p.m.
Registration for the class can be done at http://www.missouriconservation.com. The class will be held at the National Guard Armory. The class is open to students age 11 or older. Students age 15 or younger need to bring a birth certificate or other proof of age to the course. If you are unable to sign up online for the class, show up at the time above and you can be registered at the time of the class. Thanks go to the National Guard Armory, the VFW, and Walmart for helping with the class.
March 1 is the annual date for small game and fishing permits to expire. Please renew your fishing and small game permits prior to enjoying the outdoors. Permits can be obtained online at the above address, or at any local permit vendor.
For those of you looking forward to turkey season, it is not too far away. Youth season will be held on the weekend of April 6 and 7. Regular turkey season will open on April 15 and end on May 5. Additionally, other seasons close prior to turkey season. Coyote hunting season closes on March 31st. Coyote trapping season has come to close with cable restraint trapping closing at the end of February. Beaver trapping ends on March 31. Bobcat and Otters need to be tagged or registered by April 10. Please call your local conservation agent or office to schedule a time to tag or register your bobcats and otters.
