Homecoming royalty crowned at Van-Far

Royalty crowned during this year’s Homecoming at Van-Far were Queen Jayda Borgmeyer, senior, and King Joseph Clithero, senior.

Van-Far held its annual Homecoming Week filled with several events at the district.
This year’s Homecoming King and Queen are Joseph Clithero and Jayda Borgmeyer.
Other candidates included juniors Parker Wallace and Maddie Dunn; sophomores Sierra Oligschlaeger and Ethan Winders; and freshmen Verdell Johnson and Mady Swafford.
After several activities were held throughout the week, the Spirit Stick was awarded to the Senior Class. The Spirit King was Jacob Garner and Jayle Jennings was crowned Spirit Queen.
A Powder Puff game was also held on Wednesday night featuring the Junior and Senior girls playing football while several of the guys cheered them on. Seniors won the contest, 20-8.
As for Dress Up Days, Monday was “Safari Animal,” Tuesday was “Tourist,” Wednesday featured “Switcheroo,” Thursday was black and gold day, and Friday featured class colors. Freshmen wore blue, sophomores were red, juniors wore white/yellow, and seniors wore black. Results were: 1) Sophomores; 2) Freshman; 3) Juniors; 4) Seniors
