On May 16, 2015, Robert G. Fountaine-Holman received his B.A. degree during the 144th Commencement at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.
Robert received a B.A. in English.
In a separate ceremony, he was honored for his distinguished work on his senior portfolio and his performance as a career services navigator.
Mrs. Patricia Russell-McCloud was the guest speaker and is described as a “visual speaking experience.”
Mrs. McCloud is a professor, an attorney, former NASA employee, and worked in the George. W. Bush administration. Her message to the graduates was “Never Say Never; Never Give Up; Always Say Thank You.”
Also present to receive an honorary degree was Cedric Kyles, best known as “Cedric the Entertainer.” Cedric graduated from Southeast Missouri State and is a former high school teacher.
A graduation dinner was hosted by family in honor of Robert and was attended by close friends at the historic Vandalia Hotel. Relatives attending the graduation and dinner from Kansas City, Missouri were Brenda Alexander and Nasir Alexander.
Robert is the son of Joyce Holman and the late William Fountaine; brother to Ashlee Holman, of Jefferson City; Ageda Fountaine-Hall, of Houston, Texas; and Paris Fountaine, of Mobile, Alabama; and nephew of Barbara and Donna Holman, of Vandalia; and Nettie Simmons, of Mobile, Alabama.
Many people have been influential in Robert’s life and he is especially grateful to Pete Nasir, John Black, and Christian Rost for supporting his gift of written expression. He plans to pursue his Masters degree in the near future.
