Services for Helen Lorene Berry, 69, of Springfield, will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Bienhoff Funeral Home, Laddonia, with Reverend Kenneth Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Laddonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Berry passed away unexpectedly at her home December 22, 2011.
She was born April 23, 1942 in Mexico, the daughter of Walter and Frances Nelson Berry.
She grew up on the family farm near Laddonia.
She is survived by one brother, Robert (Pat Breneman) Berry; one sister, Mildred (Kenneth) Randolph of Marshall; five nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews; and other family members.
Ms. Berry was a graduate of Community R-VI High School and member of the National Honor Society and the Laddonia Baptist Church.
She participated primarily in business studies, basketball, and band. After high school, she attended Gem City Business School, and immediately found employment in Quincy, Ill.
Several years later, she took an opportunity to go to Washington, D.C. to work with the administrative staff at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She then transferred to the Department of Justice in Washington.
When her mother became ill, she transferred with the Department of Justice, Probation and Parole, working in Springfield, Mo., where she completed her career and retired.
Helen had a keen sense of humor and was a true and loyal friend. She enjoyed family, and will be surely missed.

Pallbearers will be Drew Berry, Dylan Berry, Robbie Berry, Caleb Foley, Daniel Randolph, and Glenn Roethemeyer.
