Helen Jennings, age 69, of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 5, at the St. Clement Catholic Church. Burial was in the St. Clement Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday ,March 4, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
Helen was born July 16, 1944 in Bowling Green, the daughter of Alphonse Clement and Marie Margaret Baumgartner Grote. On Sept. 25, 1965 she married Vernon Jennings at the St. Clement Catholic Church. He survives. Other survivors include one son Clifford Jennings, of Bowling Green; one brother Donald Grote, of Westfield, Mass.; four sisters Bernadette Curry, of Curryville, Mary Jones, of Vandalia, Clara Lybarger, of Bowling Green, and Kathy Hoover, of Vandalia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend Cheryl Brown Hopke. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Edna Cecilia Kerns on Dec. 30, 1995.
Mrs. Jennings lived all of her life in Bowling Green. She worked at the Steak House, Ruth Jensen Village, and then at the Bowling Green Times selling office supplies, proof reading, selling ads, and many other things for twenty-nine years. She loved to read, but her favorite past time was her love for the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Deters, Robert Kerns, Bobbie Kerns, Lance Hustedde, Ed Kerns, and David Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Ingram, Dennis Curry, and T.J. LaZeer.
