Hazel Marie (nee-Cook) Slatten passed away on Friday November 2, 2012 at the Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia, Mo. She had reached the age of 85 years.
She was born to Thomas and Clara (nee-Dothage) Cook on August 4, 1927 in Marthasville, Mo.
She was united in marriage to Claude “Shorty” Slatten in 1946.  This union was blessed with four children. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before his passing in 1995.
Hazel was a medical assistant in many different Doctor’s offices in Warrenton for 34 years. She was a member of the Warren County Historical Society. She enjoyed being outside working in her garden and yard. She loved being with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Hazel is survived by three daughters, Marcella Bauman and husband Frank of Vandalia, Mo.; Roxie Kaminski and husband Bob of Osage Beach, Mo.; Dixie Cloud of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son Scott Slatten of Vandalia, Mo.; one brother Herbert Cook and wife Margie of Warrenton, Mo.; one sister Delores “Babe” Aston of Warrenton, Mo.; six grandchildren, Tracy and Matt Bauman, Andrew Kaminski, Christy Smith, Katie Jenkins and Morgan Slatten; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Claude “Shorty”, her parents, one sister Loretta Polston, one brother Warren Cook, and one grandchild Spencer Slatten. A visitation was held Monday November 5, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, Mo.
Funeral services were held Tuesday November 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, Mo. with burial to follow at Warrenton City Cemetery.
