With several key Community R-VI golfers lost to graduation, the golf program is down to just one lone player this season.
Junior Weston Hart saw limited time in the past but is currently carrying the mantle for the program this season by himself alongside Trojans’ head coach Johnathan Guilkey.
Guilkey said his focus is for Hart to continue working on swinging mechanics in getting ready for this season.
The team lost three golfers to graduation.
The first golf match of  the season was played on March 22 against Silex.
The first home match is set for April 12 at 4 p.m. against Van-Far at the Mexico Country Club.
The April 19 home match with Sturgeon will be hosted by the Trojans at Arthur Hills.
Guilkey said he’s thankful for both courses allowing his team to hold home matches.
He’s especially grateful to the Mexico Country Club for allowing his team to practice there up to three days a week, depending on the schedule.
“We really do appreciate them letting us come out to the club a few days a week to get the kids some reps on the golf course,” Guilkey noted.
