Community R-VI’s lone golfer Weston Hart saw valuable time on the golf course this past week after competing in two matches.
Hart started the week by competing in a match hosted by Silex at the Woods Fort Golf Course in Troy.
Hart shot a 67 on what was considered an “excellent” day for the weather this early in the season. He finished 14th overall in the nine-hole match.
Silex won the match and MMA placed second.
“His short game has definitely improved,” Community R-VI golf coach Johnathan Guilkey said. “The next step is for him to start making solid contact with his irons and woods.”
Later in the week, Hart competed on the Sun Valley Golf Course just outside of Elsberry.
Hart once again shot a 67, though this time it was on a day with windy, 35-degree weather.
“We would like to have seen that score improve from our Silex match, but the weather was significantly worse on Thursday,” Guilkey said.
Hart finished in 10th place.
