Donald Hanson, of Laddonia, was one of the 110 veterans on Central Missouri Honor Flight (CMHF) No. 52 on Tuesday, May 29. The group left the Marriott in Columbia at 2 a.m. and returned at 9:30 p.m. It was a fast, fun- filled day that they will never forget. Lots of memories were made and they received the “Thanks” and the long over-due “Welcome Home”.
The Central Missouri Honor Flight Riders, more than 370 in number, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and other law enforcement officers escorted CMHF No. 52 from Kingdom City to the Marriott, in Columbia. Don is a Vietnam veteran having served in the Army. Don’s comment about the flight “It was great!” If you see Don, be sure and tell him “thanks for your service.”
Several family members and friends were in attendance for Don’s “Welcome Home” on May 29 and “Homecoming party” on June 17.
CMHF No. 53 is scheduled for July 5 with approximately 110 veterans. Plan to join us on July 5 to again give the so deserved and belated “Welcome Home” to these special veterans. Anticipated arrival time at the Marriott in Columbia is 9:30 p.m. Guests should arrive by 8:30 p.m. for pre-arrival activities.
