Martinsburg’s Famous Fried Chicken Dinner took place on Friday, June 11, at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 1270, the event served upwards of 800 dinners, according to George Schafer, who helped run the event. Schafer said that 1,300 pounds of chicken–more than half a ton–were fried and served along with mashed potatoes, gravy and fresh green beans. Pictured here being served are Bob Schuler and Ruth Wilson, both of Martinsburg. Photos by Barry Dalton

There were more than a dozen volunteers including Chloe Campbell and Paul Dubbert, who helped serve drinks.
