Kudos go to the entire cast, crew, staff, and countless others who poured in many hours to help make Van-Far’s “Beauty and the Beast” musical a success.
Advisor Jenniffer Hanson was hoping this performance would get a speech and drama department off and running after being stagnant for too many years.
I believe what they did this past Friday and Saturday night has done exactly that.
The entire cast gave the audience the impression that there has been an active department in the district for some time with the way the musical both looked and sounded.
Renting the costumes plus the ones that were made for the event were just the icing on the cake.
I’m just so happy to see the arts in full effect in the district once again.
As a former “jock,” I surprisingly enjoyed the countless perfromances my High School put on while I was in school.
Just as I was representing my school on the playing field, these students were representing the district in bright lights on the stage and those kids never disappointed.
I’m glad the Van-Far student body can experience that same feeling.
If you see any of the volunteers, cast, or district staff and administration who played a role in making this musical happen, be sure to thank them for their time and for bringing a sense of pride back to a program that has only had a handful of performance in the last decade.
