Gatson signs letter of intent with Westminster

Van-Far senior Kasey Gatson officially declared her intent to continue her basketball career on the collegiate level with Westminster College.
She was joined during the signing ceremony by her parents Adam and Julie, Junior High coach Jill Trower, Mid-Mo Shooters coach Steve Walton, former head girls basketball coach Brett Reading, and current coach Blake Logan.
“I’m really looking forward to playing with (Westminster’s) quality team with quality girls,” said Gatson who likes attending an NCAA Division III school known for its focus on academics as well as athletics.
“I can play basketball and still be able to do the other things I like.”
Gatson averaged 20.25 points per game during her senior season for the Lady Indians.
She also had 5.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.6 steals per game.
She shot 81.2 percent from the free throw line for Van-Far.
